Sweden's WM-data Partners with FastPassCorp to Service their 60000 Outsourced Active Directory Customers.

WM-data, one of Europe's leading providers of IT services and hosted computing, has decided to implement FastPass Password Manager v3 across 60,000 user sets over the next three years.

WM-data's decision highlights the increasing pressure on outsourcing service providers to meet the demands from customers for improvements to security and better 'end user' service. WM-data, which recently became part of the LogicaCMG Group, manages over 170,000 hosted user seats mainly for large Nordic companies, of which 60,000 are hosted Active Directory seats.

"Implementing Password Manager will improve our customer service and it will improve our business operations, so it's a win-win for both us and our customers," said Business Consultant Mikael Mathiasson from WM-data.

WM-data decided on Password Manager with an aim to offer self service password management without the risk of security breaches. Three vendors were asked to bid but only FastPassCorp was able to actually deliver on the requested features.

For large enterprises, as many as one in five calls to Help Desk can be password-related. Enabling sel-service frees up capacity in the Help Desk to address more complex tasks.

Across the hosted services marketplace corporate customers ask for improved Identity and Access Management services as well as flexible user access to corporate IT systems. This is what Password Manager offers - along with some significant further advantages:

W've calculated that it will help us save at least a couple of man-years in Help Desk time," said Mikael Mathiasson, adding that the cost for Password Manager on a per seat/per month basis fit their business model perfectly.
